Canadian Green Building Education and Resources

The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) is on a mission: they want to accelerate the transformation to healthier green buildings, homes and communities throughout Canada. The organization, which has been a leader in the green building movement since 2002, offers educational programs and fosters opportunities for business and government that will help further that indisputably worthy goal. These include:
  • LEED - the most widely and internationally accepted rating system for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. This includes the latest incarnation of the rating system - LEED version 4.
  • The Living Building Challenge - a program from the Living Future Institute that addresses a rigorous form of sustainable building development that focuses on the components of Site, Water, Energy, Health, Materials, Equity, and Beauty.
  • EcoDistricts - a green district plan that brings together all the stakeholders in a community to transform neighbourhoods into holistically healthy and green spaces.
  • And a host of other courses, webinars, seminars and workshops that can help you develop your green building career.
More information about each of these initiatives is available on the organization's website at cagbc.org.
